Refreshing Silence

(Watercolor on paper)

Blue, yellow, brown, yellow and black are those used a lot for this piece. To make the background uniform, care had to be taken. Paper cut in shape of trees are pinned and the mixture of bluish grey and brown are spread in the parts. This helped a lot to create the white portions on the trees; it gives that smooth snowy feel. Using a toothbrush to sprinkle white after all the required finishing worked well.

Jolie

(Watercolor on paper)

Started with light shades of blue on the background and yellow(mixture of Ochure and Chrome) on the front hair. Mixture of tinge of Carmine and brown with a lot of water is lightly applied on the face. Notice the glow on the bulged parts(being careful with that). The left side is darkly colored with black and grows thinner as it approaches the main part, i.e. the front hair and face. After waiting for a few minutes to dry, eyes, lips and the dark portions of the face are highlighted(Using a thin brush for the cause).
